Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Retail Planning Manager with 3-4 years of experience in retail planning, buying, or category management, particularly within the fashion/lifestyle sector.
In this role, you'll be crucial in developing and executing our store-level assortment strategies to boost sales and optimize inventory.
You'll use your strong understanding of financial planning tools like Open-to-Buy (OTB) and collaborate closely with various teams to ensure our product offerings align with market trends and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Assortment Strategy: Develop and execute category-level assortment strategies for our stores, focusing on maximizing sales and optimizing inventory efficiency.
- Financial Planning: Utilize your strong understanding to contribute to or lead Open-to-Buy (OTB) creation, Buy Plan development, or Range Architecture design, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Sales Analysis & Optimization: Analyze sales trends and data to provide precise recommendations on SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) mix and depth for each store location.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with buying teams to define clear category targets and continuously optimize product selections to meet consumer demand.
- Performance Tracking: Track and manage key category performance indicators (KPIs) including sell-through, margin, stock turn, Like-for-Like (LFL) sales, and overall inventory productivity.
- Marketing & Visual Merchandising Alignment: Collaborate effectively with Visual Merchandising (VM) and marketing teams to align promotional calendars and ensure strong in-store execution of product strategies.
- Stakeholder Presentations: Present performance insights, strategic recommendations, and actionable plans to key stakeholders during business reviews and range finalizations.
Qualifications
- Experience in Category Planning: 3-4 years of direct experience in category-level planning, including OTB creation, Buy Plan development, or Range Architecture design.
- Retail Background: Proven experience in retail planning, buying, or category management, with a preference for candidates from the fashion/lifestyle industry.
- Data Analysis: Strong ability to analyze sales data and effectively optimize SKU mix and inventory levels based on insights.
- KPI Familiarity: Familiarity with key retail KPIs such as sell-through, margins, stock turn, and others relevant to retail performance.
- Communication & Presentation: Strong communication and presentation skills, enabling you to articulate strategies and insights clearly to various audiences.
- Market Awareness: Keen trend awareness and a deep understanding of consumer preferences within the retail landscape
