Job Description:
Roles and responsibilities:
- Identify and onboard reliable suppliers for RM, Capex & Spares, negotiate favorable contracts and terms, build strategic vendor partnerships, and continuously monitor supplier performance to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely sourcing of raw and packaging materials.
2. Procurement Planning & Cost Management :
- Collaborate with unit teams to align procurement with demand, optimize inventory levels, explore cost-reduction opportunities through strategic sourcing, and maintain cost-benefit analyses to support pricing and budgeting decisions.
3. Raw Material & Consumables Procurement :
- Manage end-of-the-end procurement of key raw materials and consumables such as body materials, chemicals, glazes, and pigments. to ensure uninterrupted operations while maintaining strict quality compliance with unit required specifications.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration :
- Act as a liaison between unit R&D, production teams, logistics, C&F to ensure procurement aligns with business goals and lead weekly meetings to update on material availability and vendor commitments.
5. Ensure all procurement transactions comply with internal audit norms and company standards. Lead and mentor the subordinate on best practices, market insights, negotiation skills, and compliance.
Preferred Competencies:
2. Familiar with machinery, kiln spares, packaging materials, and consumables used in tile production.
3. Knowledge of quality standards relevant to the tile industry.
4. Knowledge of Global & local Supplier base for raw materials, spares & machinery for ceramic industry.
5. Familiarity with Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), or other analytics/reporting tools.
6. Skilled in contingency planning and root cause analysis and ability to act quickly during material shortages, supply disruptions, or quality failures.
7. Knowledge of import regulations, HS codes, customs clearance processes, and shipping documentation.
Education Qualifications:
2. Preferred to have a Certificate in Ceramic Materials or Diploma in Ceramic Technology.
