Manager - New Product Development Procurement

Job Description :

We are seeking a seasoned NPD Procurement Manager to lead the procurement side of New Product Development (NPD) initiatives for a reputed manufacturing firm in the plastics and steel domain. The ideal candidate will drive cross-functional collaboration, supplier development, and cost-effective sourcing strategies aligned with project timelines and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead & coordinate cross-functional teams through the entire product development lifecycle

- Define product vision & procurement strategy in line with market trends and business goals

- Conduct market research to identify vendor capabilities and cost-effective sourcing options

- Develop and manage project timelines, roadmaps, and NPD budgets.

- Oversee design, prototyping (T0-T2 level), and sampling processes to ensure feasibility and quality.

- Optimize product manufacturability by collaborating with engineering, R&D, and supply chain.

- Implement agile processes and procurement best practices to streamline NPD cycles.

- Evaluate and develop vendors with emphasis on PPAP compliance and stability mapping.

- Support go-to-market efforts by ensuring supply readiness and accurate forecasting.

- Monitor post-launch performance, supplier responsiveness, and integrate feedback for future improvements.

- Ensure regulatory and quality compliance for all sourced components and finished products.

- Manage internal stakeholder updates, supplier negotiations, and risk assessments.

Requirements :

- 10-15 years of experience in NPD procurement within manufacturing/FMCG (plastics/steel).

- Strong understanding of PPAP processes, T0-T2 prototyping, and BOM cost management.

- Proven ability to map supply stability and forecast accurately for new product lines.

- Experience working closely with design, R&D, and engineering teams.

- Excellent knowledge of procurement strategy, cost optimization, and vendor management

- Strong communication, negotiation, and project leadership skills.

- Proficiency in using ERP systems and tools (SAP preferred).
