Legal Manager (IT Services/FMCG)
JD:
- We are currently retained by a well-established IT Services firm to hire a Legal Manager for them.
- This role will manage the India legal aspects as well as some of the US legal aspects.
- The role will focus on all aspects of legal including examining laws, decisions, contracts, and guidelines to make sure the business's interests are safeguarded. Furthermore, maintaining sufficient knowledge of local, state, and federal laws in order to address legal matters.
- Please note that this requires a law graduate who has worked on end-to-end contract reviews.
- Also someone who has handled wide scope of legal in an IT or IT Services company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Drafting & vetting documents such as contracts, statements, agreements.
- Reviewing customer & Vendor contracts like MSA/PSA and SOWs.
- Preparing standard templates for recurring commercial transactions and to address new business models or legal and business requirements.
- Working with internal stakeholders and advising them on significant legal issues impacting the business.
- Carrying out trademark and patent protection processes.
- Ensuring that business is provided with legal documentation and advisory support and are legally compliant with all the applicable laws also handle Litigation.
To fit the bill, you must have:
- Bachelors or Masters in Law from a leading school.
- 8+ years of legal corporate experience in Mid to large IT firms.
- IT Contract review experience and understanding of US legal terms.
- Excellent legal drafting skills.
- Proficiency in risk assessment and identification, communication with internal stakeholders, and development of mitigation tactics.
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Litigation experience would be a plus.
- Please note this is an office based role and will have some travel as well.
