Manager - Digital Transformation - FMCG

About the Role :

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Manager Digital Transformation & Industry 4.0 to lead the digitization journey of our Foods business. The ideal candidate will drive the digital roadmap aligned with business strategy, focusing on next-generation automation, OT-IT integration, AI/ML, advanced analytics, and process optimization. You will act as a change champion, collaborating across leadership, technology partners, and cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency, innovation, and standardization.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives at the intersection of technology and business, with a deep understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies and their practical application in FMCG operations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and execute digital transformation strategies and Industry 4.0 initiatives aligned with operational excellence and business goals.

- Lead deployment of automation and process control systems including PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and OSI PI Historian, ensuring seamless OT-IT integration with ERP, SAP, and cloud platforms.

- Manage industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC UA/DA) to ensure interoperability across multiple facilities.

- Drive adoption of Big Data, Predictive Analytics, AI/ML to optimize processes, enhance energy efficiency, improve product quality, and enable predictive maintenance.

- Implement image analytics and vision systems for automated defect detection, quality control, and process monitoring.

- Define standards, SOPs, and safety requirements for digital technologies to ensure consistency and compliance.

- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including IoT, Edge Computing, and Cloud Platforms, balancing techno-commercial feasibility.

- Foster a culture of innovation, lead capability-building initiatives, and mentor teams on digital best practices.

- Collaborate with internal teams, OEMs, and technology vendors to ensure agile and future-ready upgrades.

- Track and report KPIs and ROI of digital initiatives to leadership, demonstrating tangible business impact.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) from a recognized institution.

- 10 15 years of relevant experience in the FMCG or Foods industry, leading digital transformation programs.

- Proven track record in migrating legacy systems to Industry 4.0 platforms and deploying automation solutions.

- Strong understanding of OT-IT integration, process control systems, industrial protocols, and manufacturing operations.

- Hands-on knowledge of AI/ML, predictive analytics, Big Data, IoT, and cloud-based industrial solutions.

- Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technology into business value.

Preferred / Added Advantage :

- Experience with ERP/SAP integration in a manufacturing setup.

- Familiarity with vision systems, image analytics, and quality inspection tools.

- Certifications in Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, AI, or automation technologies.

- Exposure to energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence frameworks.
