
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end processing of monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage and process variable pay components, bonuses, and incentives.
- Conduct thorough payroll reconciliations and prepare payroll reports for management.
- Address and resolve employee payroll queries and discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory regulations, including but not limited to Provident Fund (PF), Employees' State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), and TDS on salaries.
- Submit all statutory returns and challans within the prescribed deadlines.
- Stay abreast of changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements and implement necessary changes proactively.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance standards are met.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of payroll and compliance professionals.
- Delegate tasks effectively and monitor team performance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and compliance processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate and recommend new payroll software or technological solutions to enhance the payroll function.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Managing end-to-end payroll and statutory compliance, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth, hands-on knowledge of Indian labor laws, income tax regulations, and other statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, LWF).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team and interact with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Zoho Payroll) and MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., in Payroll, Compliance, or HR).
Experience in a similar industry or with a large employee base.
Experience with HRIS implementation and data migration.
