Business Development Manager - We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to drive sales and business expansion in the Japanese market. - The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering services, IT-enabled solutions, and embedded design services, along with deep market knowledge of Japan's business culture, industrial requirements, and regulatory environment. - Identification, tracking, positioning, and tendering of new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and develop new business opportunities in the Japanese market for Engineering Services (Mechanical / Electrical / Product Engineering / Plant Engineering), ITeS solutions, and Embedded Software/Hardware development. - Build and execute Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies to drive sales growth in Japan. - Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to create an effective sales pipeline. - Functional expertise: New Business Development, Strategic Account Management, Business Planning, Productivity Improvements. - Identify client business needs and business challenges, forecast requirements, and work on proposals for customized business solutions. - Establish strong relationships with Japanese Engineering / IT companies, OEMs, Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers, industrial automation firms, automotive, and manufacturing companies. - Engage with CXOs, decision-makers, to position the company as a preferred service provider. - Ensure exceptional client service, managing post-sales engagement, and growing key accounts. - Drive the end-to-end sales cycle: lead generation, prospecting, client meetings, proposal development, negotiations, and closures. - Achieve and exceed assigned sales revenue, profitability, and business development targets. - Coordinate with pre-sales, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution. - Manage the proposal development process and maintain the timelines for the proposal teams. - Understand and adapt to Japanese business etiquette, communication style, and decision-making processes. - Ensure marketing materials, presentations, and proposals align with Japanese language and business preferences. - Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Desired Candidate Skills: - 8+ years in business development & sales, specifically targeting the Japanese market. - Proven expertise in selling engineering Services (Mechanical / Electrical / Product Engineering / Plant Engineering), ITeS, software development, or embedded system design. - In-depth understanding of Japan's industrial sectors - manufacturing, automotive, energy, semiconductors, industrial automation, etc. - Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or higher preferred) is a plus. - Lead generation, Customer Front ending, RFQ inputs gathering, RFQ submission, PO Conversion and Sales/Invoice processing for Embedded Engineering Services - Demonstrated success in client acquisition, revenue growth, and strategic partnerships in Japan. - Ability to understand engineering solutions, digital transformation strategies, and embedded systems to drive consultative sales. - Basic understanding of Information Security Management system
