- To lead and manage the ground crew operations across a specific region.
- The role ensures effective manpower planning, vendor management, and collaboration with internal functions such as operations, payroll, marketing, tech, and compliance.
- A strong focus is placed on hiring efficiency, cost optimization, and crew retention.
Key Responsibilities:
Crew & Field Team Management:
- Plan and execute crew manpower requirements city-wise and region-wise in alignment with organizational strategies.
- Manage performance, productivity, and engagement of the ground sourcing team.
Vendor & Freelance Ecosystem Management:
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and onboard new vendor partners and freelancers to build a scalable and agile crew sourcing network.
- Manage ongoing vendor relationships to ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency.
Contact Centre & Recruitment Optimization:
- Oversee the regional crew contact center, ensuring high availability, responsiveness, and conversion from sourcing channels.
- Optimize the use of online job portals and digital platforms for crew hiring.
- Drive down cost-per-hire from field and agency-based recruiter channels.
Attrition Management & Retention Initiatives:
- Monitor and analyze attrition trends; identify and address root causes through structured interventions.
- Collaborate with crew marketing for engagement campaigns and retention strategies.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with city and regional operations teams to align crew availability with fleet and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with payroll and HR teams to ensure accurate, timely payments and resolution of crew queries.
- Liaise with the TECH team to implement and upgrade crew-related modules and platforms; share timely feedback and user insights.
- Ensure all regional crew hiring complies with finance, legal, and labor regulations in collaboration with the compliance team.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure 100% compliance in hiring documentation, background checks, and driver onboarding procedures.
- Stay updated on government and labor law changes, particularly concerning blue-collar workers and logistics crew.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics, field recruitment, or crew operations.
- Strong knowledge of the region you'll operate in (local labor trends, sourcing hotspots, geography).
- Proven experience in -compliance management-, especially with blue-collar hiring and transport industry norms.
- Hands-on experience in managing -large field teams-, third-party vendors, and onboarding processes.
- Familiarity with -third-party logistics and driver marketplace platforms-.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments (Ops, Tech, Finance, HR, Marketing).
- Updated on labor law, safety regulations, and EV industry standards is an added advantage.
Preferred Industry Background:
- Logistics / EV Logistics / e-commerce / Last Mile Delivery
- Prior exposure to -EV fleet crew management- is a significant advantage
