Job Description:
- Work with India COO to manage logistics issues for inbound and domestic shipment, transportation, distribution network, warehousing, customs and related issues. Area of responsibility include all phases of transportation shipment planning and execution, order control, documentation, carrier selection, freight negotiation, transportation claims, distribution center / warehouse performance and other support functions.
- Work closely with the Sales and Project Management team to ensure on-time and damage free delivery. May need to carry out customer service function from time to time and ensure customer satisfactions objectives are achieved.
Additionally, employees are expected to abide by all internal control; compliance practices to:
- Safeguard assets from theft and misuse.
- Ensure segregation of duties to minimize fraud.
- Comply with business ethics, applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Periodically reconcile physical assets to accounting records.
Skills:
- Strategically manage all Logistics operation processes consistently and track multiple projects throughout the process to ensure the timely and accurate completion and to monitor job cost
- Take a strategic role in all processes relating to Logistics function, ensuring lines of communication and procedures are in place for Steelcase's ability to meet and/or exceed customer expectation
- Maintain overall operations checklist, target dates, ship dates for product, keying or tagging requirements and services time frame requirements. Liason with external logistics operators on service and price. Ensure timely clearance of cargo/shipments.
- Quality of delivery ; handling, no damages.
- Commercially sound, good knowledge of Insurance, regulations, documentation warehousing systems processes.
- Provide monthly reports to monitor performance against measures.
- Coordinate weekly operations status meeting
- Conduct meeting and briefing sessions as required to impart knowledge, integrate team-working, access overall sales performance and updates

Education/Experience:
- At least 12-15 years of related Logistics; Supply chain coordination/supervision in related to project site work / office furniture / interiors design. (preferably in office furniture or related industry)
- Business/related degree or equivalent experience required.
