About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and proactive Legal Counsel with a minimum of 6 years of experience in litigation to join our team in Navi Mumbai. This is a critical role responsible for managing all aspects of legal disputes and proceedings for our company within the BFSI (Life Insurance) industry.

You will be at the forefront of protecting our company's interests by overseeing cases across various courts, tribunals, and quasi-judicial bodies. The ideal candidate is a skilled litigator with a strong understanding of procedural laws and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external legal partners.

Responsibilities:

- Case Management: Independently manage and oversee a diverse portfolio of litigation cases, including consumer forums, civil courts, and other regulatory bodies.

- Drafting and Vetting: Draft, review, and finalize all legal documents, including pleadings, replies, affidavits, applications, and legal notices.

- Legal Strategy: Develop and implement effective litigation strategies in coordination with senior management and internal business teams.

- External Counsel Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for external counsels, provide them with necessary information, and ensure the timely and effective handling of all legal matters.

- Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research on various statutes, regulations, and case precedents to support ongoing litigation.

- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all legal cases and provide regular updates and reports to senior management.

- Representation: Represent the company in legal proceedings, hearings, and out-of-court negotiations as required.

- Advisory: Provide sound legal advice and guidance to internal business teams on potential legal risks and litigation matters.

Key Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a reputed and recognized institution.

- Experience: A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience in litigation, with a strong preference for candidates from the BFSI or life insurance sector.

- Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of procedural laws, including the Civil Procedure Code (CPC) and the Indian Evidence Act.

- Skills: Exceptional legal drafting, research, and communication skills. You must be able to articulate complex legal arguments clearly and concisely.
