Legal Counsel Role - FMCG

Job Opportunity: Legal Counsel - South Asia

Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh (Relocation Required- Only apply if you are open to relocating to Bangladesh.)

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Legal Counsel for a leading FMCG company to provide strategic legal and compliance support across South Asia, including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of matters, from commercial contracts and corporate law to labor regulations, IT transactions, and cross-border compliance, in a fast-paced, matrixed global organization.

Please note: This role requires a candidate with experience at a Tier 1 law firm as well as in-house counsel experience within an FMCG organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts (procurement, sales, licensing, partnerships, development).

- Provide legal guidance on employment and labor matters in the region.

- Support compliance with product regulations.

- Manage litigation, dispute resolution, antitrust, and import/export issues.

- Simplify complex legal concepts into actionable, business-focused advice.

- Collaborate across functions to influence decision-making and deliver practical solutions.

To fit the bill, you must have:

- Law degree from a reputed university.

- 12-15 years of experience in a Tier 1 law firm and as in-house counsel in a multinational organization.

- Strong expertise in commercial contracts and corporate law; labor law and IT-related experience.

- Excellent judgment, strategic business sense, and strong communication skills.

- Ability to thrive in a complex, high-paced environment.

- Integrity, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset.

- Willingness to travel regionally as needed.
