We are seeking a Lead - Overseas Admissions Counseling to build and lead the student counseling practice. This role goes beyond traditional counseling it blends strategy, product development, and student success, ensuring world-class guidance for students aspiring to study in top English- speaking destinations (US, UK, Canada, Australia, and beyond).
Responsibilities:
Counseling Strategy & Delivery
- Define the student journey roadmap from early high school to college applications.
- Provide expert guidance on admissions strategy, extracurriculars, essays, and interviews.
- Ensure comprehensive coverage across multiple destinations (US, UK, Canada, Australia).
Product Development Input
- Partner with product/tech teams to convert counseling workflows into an AI powered platform.
- Share feedback on features like career roadmaps, checklists, essay reviews, and smart notes.
- Identify where human mentoring is essential vs. automation opportunities.
Team Leadership & Training
- Mentor and train junior counselors as the team grows.
- Establish SOPs, best practices, and quality benchmarks for student counseling.
- Build a strong student-first culture.
Parent & Student Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor for students and high-net-worth families.
- Clearly communicate the company's value proposition in high-stakes admissions journeys.
Market Insight & Continuous Learning
- Stay updated on global admissions trends, visa policies, and university requirements.
- Provide insights to keep the company competitive against leading agencies (Crimson, Athena, The Red Pen).
Candidate Details Qualifications & Experience:
- 6-10 years of experience in undergraduate overseas admissions counseling (experience with Athena, Crimson, The Red Pen, or similar preferred).
- Deep expertise in US & UK admissions, with knowledge of Canada, Australia, and other destinations.
- Strong understanding of essays, extracurricular strategy, and standardized tests (SAT/ACT, UCAS, IB, AP).
- Prior experience in a startup/early-stage environment preferred.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills for both students and parents.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product and tech teams.
