Job Description: Lead - Financial Systems & Processes

About the Role:

- The Lead - Financial Systems & Processes is a critical role responsible for the technical and functional leadership, operations, and maintenance of core financial processes within our renewable energy business.

- This includes the strategic direction, implementation, and ongoing support of key systems such as SAP (including S4 HANA), Hyperion, Lease accounting software, and ASP/GSP tools.

- The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of financial processes within the renewable energy sector, coupled with deep expertise in SAP and related financial technologies.

- This role demands a proactive individual capable of driving automation, implementing best practices, and acting as a subject matter expert to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Solutioning and Solution Support:

- Provide expert Solution Architecture guidance for identified projects within the finance domain.

- Leverage and implement industry best practices to optimize financial processes and system utilization.

- Identify opportunities for automation to reduce manual processes, enhance efficiency, and improve data accuracy.

- Design and implement uniform Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal controls across the business to ensure compliance and consistency.

- Architect and propose suitable technology solutions to address business needs and opportunities within the financial landscape.

SME Face-off for External and Internal Stakeholders:

- Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all matters related to the financial systems and processes under consideration.

- Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including finance teams, IT colleagues, and external partners.

- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment on system requirements and solutions.

Program / Project Management - Implement SAP Finance and Related Processes:

- Lead and drive the implementation of SAP S4 HANA as the finance lead, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with business objectives.

- Ensure the implementation of robust internal controls and the digitization of critical business processes within the SAP environment.

- Manage the roll-out of SAP across new plants and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) in a timely and efficient manner.

- Lead and manage the service delivery of IT projects related to the finance function, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Delivery Support:

- Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with both in-house IT teams and external partners to ensure optimal system performance and support.

- Maximize the utilization of SAP functionalities to drive efficiency and extract maximum value from the investment.

- Be responsible for the development and delivery of the SAP applications and product architecture roadmap, aligning with the evolving needs of the business.

Competency Build:

- Contribute to building internal expertise within the team by providing mentorship, guidance, and training as appropriate on financial systems and processes.

- Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in financial technologies, particularly within the SAP ecosystem.

Key Challenges & Opportunities:

- Supporting the rapid growth of the renewable energy business by implementing scalable and efficient system-driven processes and controls.

- Addressing the increasing demand for system-generated reports and Management Information Systems (MIS) to facilitate timely decision-making.

- Ensuring timely completion of project execution without cost overruns through effective system utilization and process optimization.

- Maximizing the utilization of existing SAP functionalities and identifying opportunities for further leveraging the system.

- Reducing the time required for ERP roll-outs to support business expansion.

- Playing a key role in the upcoming implementation of planning and budgeting tools, consolidation systems, and project management software.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.

- A Master's degree is preferred.

- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in managing and implementing financial systems, with a strong focus on SAP.

- Deep functional and technical knowledge of SAP Finance modules (FI/CO), including configuration, implementation, and support.

- Experience with SAP S4 HANA is essential.

- Proven experience in leading and managing SAP implementation projects, including roll-outs to multiple locations.

- Strong understanding of financial processes within the renewable energy sector is highly desirable.

- Experience with Hyperion, Lease accounting software, and ASP/GSP tools is a plus.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

- Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements related to financial systems
