Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Direct Tax Lawyer to join our team in Delhi.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian direct tax laws and experience in transaction tax, tax due diligence, and international tax.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex and challenging tax matters, contributing directly to the success of our clients/the company.

Responsibilities:

- Advise clients/internal stakeholders on a wide range of direct tax issues, including corporate tax, international tax, and transaction tax.

- Conduct tax due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.

- Structure transactions from a tax perspective, optimizing tax efficiency and minimizing risks.

- Represent clients/the company before tax authorities in assessments, appeals, and other proceedings.

- Prepare and review tax opinions, memoranda, and other legal documents.


- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and analyze their impact on the business.

- Stay up-to-date on current tax trends and best practices.

- Collaborate with other members of the legal and tax teams.

- Assist in tax planning and compliance activities.

- Manage and mentor junior team members (if applicable).

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients/internal stakeholders and tax authorities.

Qualifications:

- LLB degree from a recognized university (Graduation years: 2015-2018).

- 5-8 years of relevant experience in direct tax law, preferably with a focus on transaction tax, tax due diligence, and international tax.

- Strong understanding of Indian direct tax laws, including Income Tax Act, Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAAs), and relevant regulations.

- Experience in conducting tax due diligence and structuring transactions.

- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent interpersonal and client management skills
