Job Title: Scrum/Project Manager (Chief Manager/AVP)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scrum Master with a strong background in the Life Insurance domain to join our agile transformation journey. In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding our development teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, all while navigating the unique complexities and regulatory landscape of the life insurance industry
You will act as a servant-leader, empowering your teams to deliver innovative and compliant solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and the business.
Responsibilities:
- Scrum Process Facilitation & Governance: Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives) for multiple agile teams, ensuring they are productive, efficient, and align with Scrum principles.
- Domain-Specific Expertise & Guidance: Leverage your understanding of the life insurance product lifecycle (e.g.. policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, new business, actuarial calculations, distribution channels) to effectively guide team discussions and anticipate potential domain-specific challenges.
Impediment Removal & Risk Mitigation:
- Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve impediments and blockers, particularly those related to cross-functional dependencies, legacy system integration, or regulatory approvals unique to the life insurance industry
- Anticipate and mitigate risks related to project delivery, compliance, and data security in a highly regulated environment.
- Coaching & Team Development: Coach the development team on self-organization, cross-functionality, continuous improvement, and the nuances of agile development within a highly regulated financial services environment.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Act as a key liaison between the development team, Product Owner, business stakeholders (e.g., actuarial, compliance, sales, operations), and other internal departments.
Continuous Improvement & Metrics:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by conducting effective retrospectives, identifying areas for process enhancement, and implementing actionable improvements within the life insurance development context
- Help the team analyze performance metrics (eg., velocity, lead time, cycle time) to identify trends and optimize workflows.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master for software development teams
- Proven experience (at least 2 years) working within the Life Insurance domain is essential, demonstrating a strong understanding of life insurance products, business processes, and regulatory frameworks.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), or equivalent certification is mandatory.
