Role Overview

As Deputy Manager Air Imports, you will be responsible for managing the entire air import operation cycle, coordinating with airlines, handling documentation, customs clearance, and delivering high-quality customer service. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant air import processes.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA)

- Manage end-to-end air import operations ensuring timely and compliant shipment clearance

- Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and clients for smooth execution

- Ensure accurate and complete documentation for air imports, including invoices, BLs, AWBs, and customs declarations

- Monitor shipment status proactively and resolve operational issues to prevent delays

- Manage customs clearance process in compliance with government regulations

- Ensure timely follow-up on pending issues with customs and other authorities

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on shipment status

- Handle client queries and provide effective solutions with excellent service standards

- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, warehouse, operations) to optimize import workflows

- Maintain and update logistics software/tools to ensure accurate data entry and reporting

- Ensure adherence to SOPs, company policies, and regulatory compliance

- Prepare periodic reports on air import performance metrics, delays, and operational efficiency

Key Skillsets

- Strong knowledge of Air Import Management and International Logistics

- Thorough understanding of Customs Regulations and Import Compliance

- Excellent coordination and documentation handling skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

- Effective client management and communication skills

- Proficiency in time management and meeting deadlines

- Ability to work independently with a proactive approach

- Team collaboration mindset with strong interpersonal skills

- Working knowledge of logistics software and shipment tracking tools

- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Educational Qualification

Masters/Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
