Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Location: Corporate Office - Gurgaon, with regular travel to manufacturing plants across North India
Reports To: Managing Director (MD) / Board of Directors
Objective:
To lead and scale manufacturing and operational excellence across Kapila Krishi Udyog Ltd. (KKUL) in alignment with its vision of becoming public market-ready within three years, ensuring efficiency, quality, compliance, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute operational strategies to support KKUL's growth and public market readiness.
- Partner with the MD/Board to define short- and long-term operational milestones aligned with public market-readiness.
Manufacturing & Supply Chain Excellence:
- Oversee operations of all manufacturing facilities (Kanpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ramnagar, Chandauli and Khanna).
- Implement best-in-class manufacturing practices (Lean, Six Sigma) to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure timely commissioning of planned expansion units (Indore, Ambala, Gorakhpur etc.).
Quality & Compliance:
- Establish stringent quality control systems to meet regulatory and investor expectations.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards, EHS compliance, and statutory norms.
Technology & Automation:
- Drive operational digitization through ERP systems and Industry 4.0 technologies for manufacturing and supply chain optimization.
Team & Leadership Development:
- Mentor plant heads, procurement, maintenance, and supply chain leaders.
- Build a robust second line of leadership to manage operations across multiple units.
Financial & Performance Accountability:
- Monitor KPIs: output efficiency, cost per MT, downtime, waste reduction, and margins.
- Collaborate with the CFO for cost optimization and capex planning aligned to public market standards.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 15+ years in senior leadership roles within manufacturing-heavy industries (FMCG, Agri, Food Processing, Animal Nutrition preferred).
- Proven Track Record: Successfully scaled operations for a company through high-growth phases or public listing preparation.
- Expertise: Strong background in plant operations, supply chain management, and cost optimization.
- Leadership: Ability to manage multi-location teams and build strong leadership pipelines.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Preferred); MBA from a reputed institute (Preferred).
- Skills: Strategic thinking, financial acumen, technology-driven operational management, and change leadership.
