Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful - Operations Manager- to oversee and optimize our consignment operations. This role involves day-to-day planning, problem-solving, and ensuring the smooth execution of ongoing consignments. You will also play a key role in high-level financial planning, ensuring operational efficiency and effective working capital management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
- Manage and adjust schedules for in-progress consignments to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and customers to resolve any operational challenges.
- Maintain real-time visibility into consignment progress and proactively address potential bottlenecks.
- Communicate effectively across teams to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
2. Financial Planning and Management:
- Conduct high-level performance reviews of operational activities.
- Analyze incoming orders, expected payments, and outgoing expenses to ensure financial stability.
- Develop an order execution plan considering working capital availability.
- Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to prioritize supplier payments and maintain positive cash flow.
3. Problem Solving and Hustling:
- Demonstrate agility in responding to unforeseen challenges and operational roadblocks.
- Think on your feet to make quick, effective decisions.
- Continuously seek improvements in operational processes.
4. Communication and Availability:
- Be readily available to address operational issues as they arise.
- Maintain constant communication with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Adapt to a non-traditional work schedule that requires flexibility and availability beyond regular business hours.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in operations management, logistics, or supply chain management of at least 2 years+.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Experience in financial planning or operations-related finance management.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for navigating complex challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-touch environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the commodities, food, or logistics industry of at least 3 years+
- Understanding of working capital management and financial forecasting.
- Familiarity with operational management tools and systems.
