Position : Senior General Manager - Strategy & Operations
Function : Operations
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
1. Job Purpose:
The Senior General Manager - Strategy & Operations is responsible for driving the hospital's strategic vision and ensuring operational excellence across all functions. The role focuses on formulating and executing business strategies, optimizing hospital operations, enhancing patient care quality, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. By aligning people, processes, and technology, the SGM ensures sustainable growth, financial performance, and delivery of world-class healthcare services.
2. Accountabilities/ Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term strategies aligned with the hospital's vision and growth objectives.
- Identify business opportunities, partnerships, and service expansion possibilities.
- Lead feasibility studies, market analysis, and competitor benchmarking to strengthen hospital positioning.
- Work with top leadership on hospital branding, business development, and patient outreach programs.
- Involve in hospital operations when required to improve the process and clinical outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to NABH/JCI accreditation standards, patient safety protocols, and healthcare regulations.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives (EHR, HIS, patient engagement systems).
- Optimize resource utilization and processes for cost-effectiveness
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and performance targets.
- Enhance revenue cycle management and cost control measures.
- Evaluate and implement new service lines and specialties for revenue growth
- Champion patient-centered care, safety, and service quality.
- Identify and develop new service lines, specialty clinics, and centers of excellence to expand hospital offerings.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to increase market share and brand visibility.
- Evaluate merger, acquisition, and collaboration opportunities with other healthcare providers, insurers, and diagnostic chains.
- Lead initiatives for digital health, telemedicine and technology-driven services to enhance accessibility & revenue streams.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to design innovative healthcare solutions.
- Drive initiatives to improve profitability through effective resource allocation, service mix optimization, and cost control measures.
- Review and analyze monthly MIS reports, financial KPIs, and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Collaborate with department heads to set financial targets and ensure accountability for budget adherence.
- Evaluate capital investments, expansion projects, and ROI for new service lines and infrastructure upgrades.
- Drive adoption of new medical technologies, digital health solutions, and process innovations to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Promote a culture of research, evidence-based practice, and clinical trials within the hospital.
- Collaborate with medical, academic, and research institutions to establish partnerships for joint studies and knowledge exchange.
- Identify and implement innovative care delivery models such as telemedicine, AI-driven diagnostics and remote monitoring.
- Encourage departments to develop research papers, case studies, and publications to strengthen the hospital's academic reputation.
- Explore grants, funding opportunities, and collaborations to support hospital-led research initiatives.
- Work on new projects and other assignments assigned from time to time.

4. Experience & Educational Requirements:
- Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in hospital/healthcare management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Desirable: Strong knowledge of hospital operations, healthcare regulations, accreditation processes (NABH/JCI).
- Proven track record in strategic planning, business growth, and operational efficiency.
