
Key Responsibilities:
1. Office Setup & HR Operations:
- Lead the end-to-end setup of company's Bangalore office (infrastructure, vendors, statutory registrations).
- Establish HR processes and systems: HRIS, onboarding/offboarding, employee lifecycle management.
- Build scalable operations and ensure smooth integration with company's retail and online teams.
2. Labour Relations & Legal Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to labour laws, Shops & Establishments Act, and statutory obligations relevant to retail and corporate operations.
- Manage interactions with labour departments, inspectors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring smooth audits and compliance checks.
- Draft, review, and implement HR policies, employment contracts, and statutory documentation in line with legal requirements.
- Handle employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance redressal, workplace issues) with fairness and transparency.
- Act as the custodian of ethical, compliant, and employee-centric practices.
3. Compensation & Benefits:
- Design compensation structures including salary bands, performance-linked incentives, and benefits.
- Lead benchmarking studies to ensure the organization remains competitive in attracting and retaining talent.
- Oversee payroll management, statutory deductions, and liaise with finance for smooth execution.
4. Culture & Talent Enablement:
- Partner with founders to embed organization's core values and build a strong, inclusive culture.
- Support the hiring strategy: coordinate leadership hiring, assessment, and onboarding.
- Build HR dashboards-attrition, engagement, compliance metrics-and share insights with leadership.
What We're Looking For:
- 6-10 years of HR Generalist experience with exposure to labour relations, compliance, and compensation design.
- Tier 1 pedigree (XLRI, TISS, IIM, ISB, etc.) with a strong academic foundation in HR/People Management.
- Proven track record of managing HR compliance, audits, and employee relations in retail, consumer, or service-led industries.
- Strong interpersonal skills-able to work with founders, business leaders, and frontline teams alike.
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable building from scratch in a fast-paced environment.
