- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives. This includes designing the logistics network, managing inventory policies, and planning for future growth.
- Procurement & Supplier Management: Lead sourcing and purchasing activities. This involves negotiating contracts with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of materials.
- Logistics & Distribution: Oversee the movement and storage of goods. They're responsible for managing warehousing, transportation, and distribution networks to ensure products reach customers efficiently and on time.
- Inventory Management: Implement strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels. This requires balancing the need for sufficient stock to meet demand against the costs of holding excess inventory.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain, such as geopolitical issues, natural disasters, or supplier failures. They develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
