Qualification :

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and Master's Degree in Management (Specialization in Materials Management/ Operations preferred)

Experience:

- 18+ years leading Supply Chain Management, with at least 5+ years as a Functional Head

- Hands-on experience in SAP (MM, MRP, SD modules) and advanced supply chain analytics.

- Certifications in CSCP, CPIM, Six Sigma will be an added advantage.

Job Description

- The Head of Supply Chain Management is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain function, including demand planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics and distribution. This role plays a critical part in driving gross margin expansion, cost efficiency, and operational excellence while ensuring seamless supply chain operations to meet business objectives.

- The ideal candidate will have strong strategic acumen, leadership capabilities and hands-on experience in managing complex supply chains in high-growth environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand & Supply Planning:

- Develop and moderate demand forecasts in collaboration with sales, marketing and finance teams to ensure alignment with business goals.

- Optimize inventory levels through data-driven analysis, minimizing excess stock while ensuring product availability.

- Prepare and present periodic supply chain performance scorecards, dashboards and insights for senior management review.

- Implement best practices in demand planning to improve forecast accuracy and reduce supply chain disruptions.

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:

- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers based on cost, quality, technology and reliability.

- Conduct spend analysis, vendor capacity assessments, and supplier performance reviews to optimize procurement strategies.

- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and mitigate supply risks.

- Ensure business continuity by diversifying supplier base and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Inventory & Warehouse Management:

- Oversee inventory control policies, ensuring optimal stock levels across warehouses and distribution centers.

- Implement Just-in-Time and other lean inventory strategies to reduce carrying costs while meeting service levels.

- Monitor material replenishment, ensuring timely availability of goods to support production and customer demand.

- Drive process improvements in warehousing, including automation and digitization for efficiency gains.

Logistics & Distribution:

- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including freight forwarding, customs clearance and last-mile delivery.

- Establish contracts with Third-Party Logistics providers to optimize transportation costs and service levels.

- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, shipping documentation, and customs requirements.

- Develop and implement cost-effective warehousing and distribution strategies to support business scalability.

SAP/ERP & Digital Supply Chain:

- Utilize SAP (MRP, MM, SD modules) for procurement, order processing, and inventory management.

- Drive digital transformation initiatives in supply chain, including ERP enhancements, data analytics, and automation.

- Ensure system accuracy, data integrity, and process standardization across supply chain functions.

Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Lead and mentor the supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Operations, Academics and Customer Service teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals.

- Manage crisis situations (e.g., supply shortages, logistics delays) with effective problem-solving and contingency planning.
