Role Overview

We are looking for a result-oriented and hands-on Supply Chain Head who will lead end-to-end Supply Chain Operations, encompassing Purchase, Vendor Development, Warehousing, Logistics, and Strategic Projects. The role is crucial in driving fulfillment efficiency, cost optimization, vendor performance, and supply chain innovation to support rapid business growth across online, retail, and B2B channels. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years in supply chain, purchase, and operations roles, preferably in consumer brands (FMCG, D2C, Retail)

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Purchase & Vendor Management

- Lead strategic sourcing, price negotiations, and supplier relationship management.

- Align procurement with demand forecast, ensuring healthy inventory levels across regions.

- Drive cost reduction initiatives and alternate vendor development for high-risk SKUs.

- Monitor and improve vendor fill rates, QC adherence, and SLA compliance.

- Reduce quality complaints by coordinating root cause analysis and preventive actions.

2. Warehousing & Logistics

- Oversee multi-location warehousing operations with a focus on fill rate, dispatch TAT, and SLA adherence.

- Optimize logistics planning - reduce PTL inefficiencies, dead freight, and reverse logistics costs.

- Lead layout improvements, time-motion studies, and process audits to enhance warehouse productivity.

- Ensure inventory accuracy, reconciliation, and adherence to QC standards across all nodes.

- Manage manpower productivity and cost optimization through lean staffing models.

3. Strategic Projects & Process Transformation

- Lead cross-functional initiatives like SOP Mapping, BOM standardization, SC dashboards, and integrated facility setup etc.

- Implement digital tools, dashboards, and process improvements for real-time supply chain visibility.

- Standardize formats, improve inter-departmental alignment with NPD, Sales, Retail, and Online.

4. Leadership & Capability Building

- Build a high-performance team culture focused on ownership, reviews, and internal growth.

- Create a backup-ready structure with cross-training and succession planning.

- Conduct monthly functional training, driving ERP, QC, and process adherence across staff levels.

- Lead strategic collaboration with other verticals to ensure supply chain readiness from day zero.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong business acumen with deep functional expertise in purchase and logistics.

- Excellent negotiation and vendor development capabilities.

- Experience with warehousing automation, TMS/WMS/ERP systems.

- Strategic thinker with sharp execution focus and cross-functional leadership skills.

- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure startup/scale-up environment.
