Roles & Responsibilities:
To lead and drive end-to-end Sourcing and Supply Chain Strategy by steering program management, make-vs-buy analysis, global and local procurement, cost optimization, and supply chain excellence. This role is critical to enabling sustainable business growth, efficient new product development, and world-class supply operations across Automotive.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Leadership
- Develop and implement robust sourcing strategies across local and global suppliers for critical and high-value components.
- Lead cost benchmarking, supplier development, RFQ management, and commercial negotiations.
- Align sourcing strategy with long-term product roadmap and organizational objectives.
2. Supply Chain Strategy & Optimization
- Drive efficiency in end-to-end supply chain processes, from vendor onboarding to final delivery.
- Champion initiatives on inventory optimization, logistics planning, and lead time reduction.
- Ensure agility and resilience in the supply chain to mitigate risks and manage disruptions.
3. Make vs. Buy Analysis & Feasibility Studies
- Conduct strategic evaluations of manufacturing vs. outsourcing decisions based on cost, capability, capacity, and time-to-market.
- Support backward integration and localization plans for critical systems (e.g., engine, transmission, hydraulics).
4. Product Costing & Cost Engineering
- Drive product costing efforts in collaboration with engineering, R&D, and finance teams.
- Execute target costing, should-cost analysis, and cost reduction initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
5. Program & Project Management
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional sourcing programs and engineering-led supply initiatives.
- Oversee sourcing and SCM contributions to greenfield and brownfield projects, including ramp-up and industrialization plans.
6. Product Development & Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to source new components, materials, and technologies at optimal cost and quality.
- Drive early supplier involvement (ESI) to ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and supplier readiness during new product development.
7. Global Procurement & Localization
- Source components and systems from international vendors while strategically localizing supply chains for cost and compliance benefits.
- Build and manage a global supplier network ensuring quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- A seasoned professional with extensive experience in sourcing, procurement, and supply chain leadership roles within automotive, construction equipment, or industrial engineering sectors.
- Proven track record of leading greenfield projects, localization initiatives, and global procurement strategies.
- Strong understanding of engineering, product development, and cost optimization techniques.
- Adept at commercial negotiations, supplier management, and cross-functional program execution.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills with a strategic mindset and hands-on approach.
