
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Head of Safety to lead the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) function for a greenfield semiconductor plant. This is a critical leadership role requiring a strategic and practical approach to safety in a complex, high-risk construction environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience from the contracting side, with a proven track record of managing safety for high-rise buildings, data centers, or other high-tech infrastructure projects.
Role Overview:
As the Head of Safety, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a world-class safety culture and program. You will lead the EHS function for the construction of a state-of-the-art semiconductor plant, ensuring all operations, including cleanroom build-outs, complex MEP services, and hazardous material systems, are conducted in full compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Develop, implement, and oversee all EHS policies, procedures, and programs. Act as a visible safety leader on-site, fostering a proactive and preventative safety culture among all personnel and subcontractors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all relevant Indian safety regulations and standards. Stay updated on new and evolving regulations to proactively adjust safety protocols.
- Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and manage safety for high-risk activities.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of safety professionals, providing them with the tools and guidance needed to succeed.
- Incident Management: Lead all incident investigations, develop corrective action plans, and report findings to senior leadership.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project management, engineering, and other departments to integrate safety into every phase of the project lifecycle.
- Training & Auditing: Organize and conduct safety training programs. Lead internal and external safety audits to ensure continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 18- 20 years of dedicated EHS experience within the industrial construction sector.
- Background: Must have a background working with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) or contracting organizations.
- Education: B.E./B.Tech is required.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001/14001 Auditor are highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of Indian safety regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership in high-risk construction environments, specifically within high-tech, cleanroom, or data center projects.
