
Job Summary:
The Head of Quality will be responsible for the overall strategy, direction, and management of the Quality Management Systems across the organization. This role is critical in ensuring all products and processes meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Head of Quality will lead a high-performing team, implement best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to embed quality principles throughout every aspect of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop, communicate, and execute a comprehensive quality strategy that aligns with the company's long-term business objectives.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a large, diverse quality team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
Quality Systems & Compliance:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Ensure strict adherence to national and international compliance standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO/TS 16949, GMP, etc.).
- Conduct regular internal and external audits to identify non-conformities and drive corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean.
- Utilize data-driven insights and statistical process control (SPC) to identify areas for improvement and optimize processes.
Risk Management:
- Establish and manage risk assessment frameworks to proactively identify and mitigate quality risks.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for significant quality issues, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders in Manufacturing, R&D, Supply Chain, and other departments to embed quality-by-design principles and ensure quality standards are met at every stage of the product lifecycle.
- Sustainability & EHS: Collaborate with the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to ensure quality initiatives support and integrate with broader sustainability goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Quality Management, MBA, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- 20+ years of progressive experience in quality, sustainability, or EHS roles.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership position within a multinational company.
- Proven experience working across multiple industries (e.g., automation, medical devices, automotive).
- Certifications: Certified Quality Professional (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer/Manager/Organizational Excellence) is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise:
- Expertise in Quality Management Systems and international standards.
- Strong knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and risk management methodologies.
- Demonstrated success in leading quality transformations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams at all levels.
