Head of Production - Paper Recycling & Conversion Industry

Company Overview

Our client is part of a diversified business group and operates in the paper recycling and conversion industry. The company manufactures products such as kraft paper, copybooks, wrapping paper, and tissue paper from recycled waste. With a growing team , the facility in Madagascar is undergoing rapid operational scaling and is looking to hire an experienced production leader to drive efficiencies, ensure quality, and lead the team.

Role Summary

The Head of Production will oversee the entire manufacturing process, from raw material input to finished goods dispatch. This role demands strong operational leadership, people management, and a deep understanding of paper or packaging production environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage daily production operations to achieve output, quality, and delivery targets.

- Create production schedules in alignment with sales and procurement.

- Optimize processes for minimal waste and maximum efficiency.

- Enforce quality assurance standards and resolve non-compliance issues.

- Supervise, train, and mentor the production team and manage shifts and performance.

- Coordinate with maintenance for upkeep and readiness of machinery.

- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations and processes.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, procurement, and senior management.

- Monitor and report on key KPIs and participate in management reviews.

Mandatory Experience

- 7-10 years of experience in a production or factory operations role within the paper, pulp, or packaging industry.

- Proven experience in team management and factory performance improvement.

- Hands-on knowledge of lean manufacturing, safety standards, and quality systems.

- Experience working in eco-friendly or sustainable manufacturing setups is a strong plus.

- Prior experience in a remote or international location preferred.
