Head - Procurement - Pharma

Leads the procurement function to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services critical to pharmaceutical manufacturing and operations. This role combines strategic planning with rigorous vendor management, while maintaining strict compliance with industry-specific quality and regulatory standards.

Key Result Areas:

- Design and execute a robust procurement strategy aligned with business goals.

- Forge long-term vendor partnerships for APIs, excipients, packaging, and other critical pharmaceutical inputs.

- Lead cost optimization while safeguarding quality and supply reliability.

- Drive supplier audits, performance reviews, and regulatory compliance (GMP, FDA, ISO, etc.).

- Manage the full procurement lifecyclefrom demand planning and PO creation to contract and inventory oversight.

- Ensure seamless supply chain operations by optimizing inventory levels and reducing stockouts/overstocks.

- Partner closely with Manufacturing and R&D to align sourcing with production and new product pipelines.

- Establish clear procurement policies and maintain full legal and regulatory compliance.

- Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, fostering innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

- Define team KPIs and ensure tight alignment with business performance metrics.

- Own and optimize the annual procurement budget.

- Monitor and report on cost savings, analyze spend data, and identify improvement opportunities.

- Track market dynamics to anticipate shifts in material costs and availability
