Head - Operations - General Insurance

A prestigious client of Innoquest Consulting, a captive shared services unit based in Mumbai, is seeking a Head of Operations for their General Insurance division.

Job Description:

- Oversee all day-to-day operations, including client servicing, claims management, policy placement, and underwriting processes.

- Implement operational processes and policies to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize performance.

- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards set by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and other local authorities.

- Coordinate between different departments (sales, claims, underwriting, compliance) to ensure seamless operations.

- Lead, manage, and mentor cross-functional teams to enhance performance and collaboration across the organization.

- Provide guidance and support to department heads, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

- Work with the finance department to ensure that operational costs remain in line with the overall financial goals.

- Ensure that the client servicing strategies align with customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Skills required:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field. MBA or equivalent is preferred.

- Professional certifications in insurance (e.g., IRDAI certification) would be advantageous.

- Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in the insurance or financial services sector.

- Proven experience in managing and scaling operational functions within a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.

- In-depth knowledge of the Indian insurance industry, regulatory landscape, and market trends.
