Overview:
The Head of Marketing and PR will lead the development and execution of all marketing and public relations strategies within the fintech industry. This role is crucial in driving brand awareness, customer acquisition, and engagement while maintaining a strong, positive image for the company in both traditional and digital media. The ideal candidate will have experience in both fintech and marketing leadership, with a deep understanding of financial technology trends, customer behaviour , and effective communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to support the company's goals, focusing on customer acquisition, retention, and brand positioning within the fintech space.
- Oversee the creation and execution of multi-channel campaigns across digital (social media, content marketing, SEO/SEM, email, etc.) and traditional platforms (events, PR, sponsorships).
- Align marketing efforts with business objectives, ensuring the marketing strategies are directly contributing to revenue growth and market share.
2. Public Relations Strategy:
- Build and execute a robust public relations strategy to position the company as a thought leader in the fintech sector.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key journalists, influencers, and media outlets within the fintech and broader financial industry.
- Lead media outreach, press releases, and crisis management communications to maintain the company's positive public image.
3. Brand Management:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the company's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to adjust brand messaging and positioning in the ever-evolving fintech landscape.
- Guide creative teams in the production of compelling visual and written content that resonates with target audiences.
4. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and PR team, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture.
- Set clear goals and KPIs for the marketing and PR team, regularly evaluating performance and implementing improvements as needed.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with product, sales, and customer service teams to develop marketing campaigns that align with customer needs and product offerings.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align on company messaging, strategic objectives, and major initiatives.
6. Digital Marketing & Analytics:
- Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, making data-driven decisions to optimize future efforts.
- Oversee the company's digital marketing strategy, including web and mobile app promotions, online content, and SEO/SEM.
7. Event Management & Sponsorships:
- Organize and oversee participation in fintech events, conferences, webinars, and other public speaking opportunities to enhance visibility and reputation.
- Manage sponsorship opportunities, partnerships, and industry collaborations to boost brand awareness and credibility.
8. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the marketing and PR budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and cost-efficiently.
- Optimize ROI on marketing investments through careful planning and performance analysis.
Qualification and Experience Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience: At least 15-20 years of experience in marketing and PR, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles within the fintech or financial services industry.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven track record of leading successful marketing campaigns in the fintech or technology space, with a strong understanding of digital marketing, brand management, and PR.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep understanding of fintech trends, customer personas, and emerging technologies in the financial services sector.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics, CRM platforms, and social media management.
- Crisis management experience and the ability to handle sensitive or challenging public relations situations effectively.
- Experience working in a fast-growing, dynamic fintech startup or scale-up environment.
- Familiarity with global financial regulations and the ability to navigate complex compliance requirements related to marketing and PR.
