Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the operations of the Nasik and Sinnar plants, which produce hard luggage with a combined production capacity of approximately 400,000 pieces per month. Manage a workforce comprising 300 on-roll employees and 2,000 contract workers.

- Develop and implement best practice manufacturing strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to enhance business performance and competitiveness.

- Ensure that manufacturing processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets.

- Provide design for manufacturing (DFM) input at early stages of the new product development (NPD) process, ensuring smooth transition from design to production.

- Initiate and develop innovative manufacturing processes, driving a culture of continuous improvement encompassing lean principles.

- Establish robust quality control mechanisms to maintain product standards and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

- Foster a culture of safety by ensuring all operations align with workplace safety and environmental sustainability norms

- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Design & New Product Development teams to align production with demand forecasts and implement new designs effectively.

- Drive and be accountable for the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the manufacturing units, optimizing operating working capital usage and minimizing waste.

- Provide leadership to departments under control, coach, mentor, and develop direct reports, and manage a high-performing team that delivers continuous improvement and cost reductions.

- Work closely with the Manufacturing team to translate the site strategy into specific annual performance goals, define departmental objectives, and establish KPIs to track progress effectively.

- Develop and implement the appropriate organizational structure to support manufacturing operations and long-term business objectives.

- Plan and allocate resources efficiently to optimize workforce, production capacity, and infrastructure.

- Foster a high-performance work culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
