Job Summary:


- We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Business Development Head/Manager to spearhead our growth initiatives in the Jammu & Kashmir region, particularly focusing on developing and nurturing relationships with Government clients within the Road Transport and Road Safety sectors.


- The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of identifying opportunities, building strong partnerships, and driving business growth in a regulated environment.


- This role requires a deep understanding of statutory rules related to Road Transport & Road Safety and the ability to navigate complex government processes.


- The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire business development lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring and customer relationship management.


Key Responsibilities:


Government Liaison:


- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in relevant Government departments and agencies related to Road Transport, Road Safety, and infrastructure development in Jammu & Kashmir.


- Act as the primary point of contact for Government clients, understanding their needs, priorities, and procurement processes.


- Effectively communicate the company's offerings and value proposition to Government clients.


- Represent the company at relevant government meetings, conferences, and seminars.


- Stay updated on government policies, regulations, and initiatives related to the transportation sector.


Business Development Strategy and Planning:


- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy for the Jammu & Kashmir region, aligned with the company's overall objectives.


- Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, including tenders, projects, and partnerships within the Government sector.


- Conduct market research and analysis to understand the competitive landscape and identify emerging trends.


- Set clear and measurable business development targets and KPIs.


Execution and Implementation:


- Lead the execution of the business development plan, ensuring timely and effective implementation of strategies.


- Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and other relevant documentation for Government clients.


- Negotiate contracts and agreements with Government entities, ensuring favorable terms for the company.


- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, technical, legal) to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.


Monitoring Daily Development:


- Monitor daily progress on business development activities and track key milestones.


- Analyze performance data and provide regular reports to senior management on progress against targets.


- Identify and address any challenges or roadblocks in the business development process.


Customer Relationship Management:


- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with Government clients.


- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their evolving needs and providing tailored solutions.


- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and effective problem-solving.


- Gather client feedback and use it to improve the company's offerings and processes.


Understanding of Statutory Rules:


- Possess a thorough understanding of the statutory rules and regulations governing Road Transport and Road Safety in India, particularly those applicable in Jammu & Kashmir.


- Ensure that all business development activities and proposals are compliant with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.


- Stay updated on any changes or amendments to these regulations.


Qualifications:


- Education: MBA, PGDM


- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, with a significant focus on engaging with Government clients.


- Prior experience in the Road Transport, Road Safety, or related infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.


Skills:


- Proven ability to effectively liaise with Government clients at various levels.


- Strong understanding of Government procurement processes and regulations.


- Excellent planning and strategic thinking skills.


- Demonstrated experience in executing business development plans and achieving targets.


- Ability to monitor daily development and track key performance indicators.


- Exceptional customer relationship management skills with a focus on building long-term partnerships.


- In-depth knowledge of statutory rules and regulations related to Road Transport and Road Safety in India.


- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.


- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


- Familiarity with CRM software is an advantage
