Minimum Qualification (i.e education, training etc.):

- LLB / LLM from reputed institute.

Minimum Experience:

- Minimum 15 years of experience in the Real Estate

- Minimum 10 years of experience of working with large real estate developer/s in Mumbai

- Experience in any leading law firm will be added advantage

Special Skills/Attributes (required for performing the job effectively):

- Should have advanced knowledge of legal administration, especially contract related matters, real estate transactions

- Drafting various types of agreements, submissions in courts and quasi-judicial authorities

- Responsible for handling entire Litigation portfolio of the group ranging from city civil courts, district courts, High Court, Supreme Court, quasi-judicial authorities like RERA, consumer courts and revenue authorities

- Overall Purpose/Objective Of the job Support the Sr. Management by participating in all Corporate Legal matters, Litigation, Transactions, Negotiations, mitigating legal risk and ensuring total compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan out the proactive measures that can be introduced to mitigate legal risks, provide legal advice for policy formulation, install relevant systematic framework and its maintenance and implementation.

- Drafting various types of Agreement, Development Agreements, Joint Development Agreements, Term Sheet, Conveyance Deed, Lease Deeds, RERA Agreement, legal notices and replies to legal notices etc.

- Plaints, Written Statements, Case Papers, Affidavits, Notices, Writ Petitions, Appeals, etc. for various legal proceedings. Handling the finalisation of various documents in coordination with Advocates/ Solicitors.

- Responsible for independently handling entire Litigation portfolio of the group before judicial, quasi-judicial and revenue authorities.

- Well Conversant with Code of Civil procedure and Court Rules / Procedures, Writs and other allied work for limited companies including Direct & indirect taxation, RERA, other real estate laws, etc.

- To appoint AOR's for critical matters including negotiation of their fees

- Brief counsels and AOR's as and when required.

- Proactively work towards resolving ongoing litigations and reducing the number of legal cases of the group.

- Introduce AI in legal documentation preparation and increasing efficiency of the Legal Department.

- Legal support to the management in land acquisitions and its documentation

- To introduce internal control systems (legal audit) to ensure that the set quality standards are maintained and duly observed in the preparation, closure and administration of agreements.

- To standardize and ensure circulation of Legal MIS template for reporting by each of the units (weekly/ monthly) to designated management members.

- To update management with relevant legal updates impacting the group's business.

- Should be a go-getter and be able to work independently

- Ensure safe and custody of all original documents by the respective legal teams

- Training to internal teams, developing / preparing training modules on various Legal subjects, update on new laws, case studies etc.
