Job Description: Head - Exports (FMCG Foods & Beverages)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned professional to spearhead the international expansion of our FMCG foods and beverages business. The role will be responsible for building new markets, developing global distributor and retail partnerships, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and driving the end-to-end P&L of the exports division. This is a high-impact leadership position requiring strong expertise in FMCG exports, international market development, and cross-functional team management.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Expansion:

- Define and implement the global export strategy for foods and beverages.

- Identify new international markets (GCC, SE Asia, US, UK, Africa, LATAM, Europe) and develop entry strategies.

- Build strong distribution, retail, and institutional sales networks abroad.

Business Development & Partnerships:

- Secure and manage relationships with distributors, retailers, modern trade, e-commerce, and HoReCa partners in key global markets.

- Lead contract negotiations, joint business plans, and trade spend management to maximize profitability.

- Establish partnerships with global retail chains, importers, and institutional buyers.

- Manage end-to-end exports P&L, ensuring revenue growth, margin expansion, and working capital efficiency.

- Drive product launches and market-specific portfolio development to meet local consumer preferences.

- Implement effective pricing, promotions, and channel strategies to ensure competitive positioning.

Operations & Compliance:

- Oversee international supply chain operations including demand planning, logistics, and cold-chain management for perishable/frozen categories.

- Ensure compliance with all international regulations (FSSAI, US FDA, EU standards, Halal, SFDA, labeling & packaging requirements).

- Optimize export documentation processes and trade finance in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Governance:

- Build and lead a high-performing exports team across markets.

- Establish governance, reporting frameworks, and performance dashboards to monitor market performance.

- Drive cross-functional collaboration with marketing, R&D, supply chain, and finance for successful global execution.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Revenue growth & profitability of international business.

- Number of new markets entered and scaled.

- Distribution & retail partnerships secured and retained.

- Market share and brand visibility in international markets.

- Compliance and regulatory approvals achieved without disruption.

- Efficiency of supply chain (cost per ton, spoilage %, lead time reduction).

Candidate Profile:

- Experience: 8+ years in FMCG exports with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing international food/beverage markets.

- Domain: Strong background in FMCG foods, beverages, dairy, frozen foods, or packaged snacks.

- Expertise: Proven track record in distributor management, new market entry, international business development, and P&L ownership.

- Knowledge: Hands-on experience with international food compliance and certifications.

- Skills: Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, cross-cultural leadership, and execution focus.

- Education: MBA/PGDM in Marketing/International Business preferred.
