Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth:
- Define and implement business strategy for Freight Forwarding & Logistics in line with company goals.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, partnerships, and global trade lanes.
- Lead negotiations with carriers, shipping lines, airlines, and vendors for competitive rates and services.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, and safety standards.
Operations Management:
- Oversee end-to-end freight forwarding operations - Import, Export, Customs Brokerage, Warehousing, Distribution, 3PL/4PL.
- Optimize supply chain processes to reduce transit time, freight cost, and improve reliability.
- Develop and implement SOPs to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Manage vendor and carrier relationships to ensure service quality and on-time delivery.
Financial & Commercial Accountability:
- Own P&L responsibility for Freight Forwarding & Logistics vertical.
- Monitor financial performance, cost structures, and implement margin improvement initiatives.
- Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives for efficiency and visibility.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate cross-functional teams across freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain operations.
- Build a performance-driven culture with emphasis on accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Develop succession planning and talent retention strategies.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of International Freight Forwarding (Air & Ocean), Customs Regulations, Incoterms, and Logistics operations.
- Proven track record of P&L management, business development, and operational leadership.
- Excellent negotiation skills with carriers, vendors, and global partners.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with ability to lead large teams.
- Analytical mindset with expertise in cost optimization and process improvement.
- Proficiency in ERP/Logistics Management Systems and digital supply chain tools.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Logistics, or related field.
- Experience in Freight Forwarding & Logistics with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in managing global trade lanes, large-scale operations, and P&L responsibility.
- Exposure to sectors such as FMCG, Manufacturing, Retail, Automotive, Pharma preferred.
