We are currently retained by a leading Indian Conglomerate in the Infrastructure (Railways/Roadways) business to hire a Head of Finance.

This is a pivotal leadership mandate for a seasoned finance professional who will not only anchor the finance function but also serve as a strategic partner to the leadership and the Board. The role demands someone who can shape the financial architecture of a large-scale infrastructure business, balancing long-term capital strategy with near-term operational priorities. Beyond overseeing financial controls and compliance, the mandate extends to driving complex fundraising programs, leading investor engagement, and steering capital allocation decisions that directly influence the group's growth trajectory.

In this role, you will be responsible for reinforcing governance standards, establishing strong credibility with investors and financial institutions, and transforming the finance function into a forward-looking, value-driven partner that accelerates the conglomerate's growth ambitions in the energy and infrastructure space.

Key Responsibilities :

- Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead the finance function with responsibility for financial governance, planning, and analysis, ensuring alignment with the group's long-term growth and investment strategy.

- Fundraising & Investor Relations: Drive fundraising initiatives (equity, debt, and structured financing), manage investor relationships, and build credibility with financial institutions, private equity players, and rating agencies. Support leadership in articulating the company's financial story to stakeholders.

- Mergers & Acquisitions: Lead end-to-end M&A activities-strategy, due diligence, negotiations, and post-merger integration-ensuring value creation and business alignment.

- Process Excellence: Drive financial process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance governance, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Act as a trusted partner to senior leadership, Board, and investors, providing strategic insights and guiding the finance team across multiple business units and geographies.

- Financial Control & Reporting: Manage project-related financials, including revenue recognition and cost controls for EPC and infra-linked projects.

- Taxation & Compliance: Lead corporate tax, GST, TDS, and other regulatory requirements. Manage tax planning, audits, and litigation, ensuring adherence to statutory obligations while optimizing tax positions.

- Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Optimize cash flow, manage treasury operations, and maintain strong banking and financial institution relationships to ensure liquidity and financial resilience.

To fit the bill, you must have:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) degree with 20+ years of experience in finance leadership roles.

- Proven experience in fundraising, investor relations, and financial strategy within the infrastructure or allied industries.

- Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws, regulatory frameworks, and global financial practices.

- Experience managing financial operations for large-scale infra projects.

- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at the highest levels.
