A global enterprise engaged in Consumer Care and Infrastructure businesses with over USD 2B of annual revenue. The Global Controllership function, headquartered in Bangalore, is responsible for the overall controllership environment across the company, managing audits & close processes, leading IFC and other initiatives. The organization has ~100 reporting entities worldwide that get consolidated every quarter. This Operations Controller role is based at HQ, offering high visibility to leadership while working on critical projects and consolidation.

Key Responsibilities

This position involves approximately 40% individual contribution and 60% team/stakeholder management. It is a critical role shaping and creating robustness in finance processes with impact across geographies.

- Manage the close process with 100+ reporting units, including setting timelines, ensuring timely submissions, publishing dashboards, and scheduling quarterly meetings between auditors and finance leadership.

- Conduct pre-close meetings with all entities to identify special transactions or key issues, escalating as needed to leadership.

- Coordinate continuously with statutory auditors, maintaining trackers to ensure quarterly and annual audit timelines are met. Prepare variance analysis (QoQ, YoY, VOP) for audits and board decks. Manage coordination with international auditors for timely annual pack submissions.

- Drive and operationalize global controllership initiatives such as increasing automated journals, implementing intercompany applications, and automating processes/analytics.

- Lead the continuous Internal Financial Controls (IFC) program, ensuring no control deficiencies and monitoring governance status of all entities and venture investments.

- Oversee Tax Controllership, ensuring timely tax audits, supporting assessments, managing TDS/TCS/tax master updates, and aligning tax positions in coordination with Group Tax and Business Finance teams.

- Lead account reconciliation processes globally to ensure book hygiene, including annual reserves reconciliation for all reporting units against consolidated books.

Requirements

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 12+ years of experience.

- Strong understanding of corporate and tax laws, with focus on accounting and consolidation.

- Proven experience in statutory audits, SoX, IFC, tax audits, and consolidation processes. Familiarity with IFRS/Ind AS is essential.

- Exposure to IT applications, finance tools, and platforms.

- Knowledge of consolidation, controllership, financial finalization, and M&A accounting concepts (preferred).

- Working knowledge of SAP/ERP and Hyperion (advantageous).

- Prior experience in Big 4 or controllership roles in large corporates is highly desirable.
