
Global Lead Clean Energy Supply
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver on the strategic goals of the clean energy supply pillar, ensuring alignment with the WRI Polsky Energy Center's overall mission.
- Build and manage a diverse, talented, and international team, fostering a high-trust, high-functioning environment.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the clean energy supply pillar, including leading joint bids for multi-million dollar investments.
- Manage a minimum budget of $5M USD, ensuring robust financial oversight and alignment with donor procedures.
- Prioritize and maintain a strong network of public and private sector partners, modeling excellent communication and outreach.
- Oversee the monitoring, evaluation, and learning framework to track progress and deliver timely reports to donors and stakeholders.
- Pursue and secure flexible funding to support global and country-level work and collaborate with the WRI Development team to engage high-net-worth individuals.
- Lead project management for clean energy initiatives, ensuring teams remain on track to deliver results and impacts at both national and international levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in a related field such as energy, policy, international development, or climate-related subjects.
- A minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 5 years of direct line management experience.
- A proven track record of successfully managing and building multicultural teams across a range of energy market types.
- Experience in international development project management and leadership in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and fundraise for a budget of at least $5M USD.
- Deep understanding of the energy sector, particularly the electric utility sector, and a strong track record of advancing big ideas that accelerate the energy transition.
- Experience or research related to grids, power market rules, and distributed energy solutions like solar+storage, green hydrogen, and virtual power plants.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
- An existing network of contacts in government, business, research institutes, and NGOs in developing and emerging markets.
- Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, with an existing work authorization at a WRI office location.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of energy markets and clean energy transitions across diverse regions, including Asia, Europe, the US, Latin America, and Africa.
- Experience communicating complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive while managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
