Purpose of Position - Manger Taxation in Finance organization, GVR India

- GVR India is seeking a Manager Taxation to lead the tax related responsibilities at Mumbai location.

- Reporting to the Financial Controller, he/she will be responsible the tax compliances of the Company - direct, indirect, transfer pricing, litigation and export regulations.

- The incumbent will oversee all preparations and support for the accounting and reporting for taxes, audits and assessmentsforstatutory and group reporting.

- It is expected that he/she provides strategic inputs for tax planning and positioning in India markets.

- The tax lead will have future opportunities to take on expanded leadership roles within the GVR and / or Vontier organization.

Key Responsibilities:


The role and responsibilities will include:

Tax compliance:

- Oversee the accurate calculation and timely payment of taxes.

- Filing of various tax returns and forms.

- Ensure compliance with the tax laws, both existing and changes - direct and indirect (income tax, GST)

- Accounting of the abovesaid taxes in the applicable GAAP.

- Prepare and review tax provisions and other disclosures for financial reporting.

- Tax reporting to GVR/Vontier Corp for group reporting.

- Tax audits and assessments.

- Handle all inquiries from tax authorities and audits

- Oversee the preparation of documents and supporting to be submitted.

- Respond to queries and prepare for tax audits and assessments.

- Work with the controlling and FP&A team to report risk, contingent liabilities and countermeasure the same.

Tax planning and strategy:

- Develop and implement strategies to optimise tax liability of the Company.

- Undertake analysis to support business decisions-making.

- Collaborate with the broader finance and business teams to align tax planning and strategy to business goals.

- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to escalate risks and opportunities.

- Business advisory and partnering:

- Provide tax advice to management and stakeholders for transactions and operations.

- Oversee the inter-company set up of global COE.

Other tax related:

- Compliance to transfer pricing rules, both local and GVR/Vontier requirements and ensuring arms-length pricing, billing and recovery across business areas

- Knowledge of foreign trade laws, EXIM, FEMA and GCC/COE and EOU set-up is required.

- Controls and compliance - maintaining track of compliance, litigation matters and escalating the same.

- Provide support to HR on employee payroll taxes including employee TDS deduction.

Others:

- Work closely with advisors and consultants for optimising Company taxation.

- Tax-related assistance in mergers, acquisition and other Corporate projects of Vontier/GVR processes.


- Practice Vontier Business Systems VBS by identify and drive continuous improvements through Kaizen.

Qualifications requirements:

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

- Chartered Accountant with eight-twelve years of overall experience in finance, accounting or controlling with at least five years in taxation: direct, indirect.

Transfer pricing and assessments/litigation:

- Should be well conversant with tax laws, changes and new developments.

- Experience in manufacturing set-up and MNC background.

- Exposure to plant accounting, costing, FP&A, and other areas of finance will be considered an added advantage.

- Knowledge of ERP and reporting systems (preferably, SAP and Hyperion) will be considered an added advantage.

- Should demonstrate strong financial acumen, critical thinking, problem-solving thinking skills and the ability to make decisions.

- Highly analytical, data and detail-oriented with ability to make decisions and work autonomously.

- Advanced Excel skills, command over MS Office applications and affinity to make presentations, as and when required.

- Strong compliance orientation to Vontier core value, tax laws, GAAP requirements, policies, SOX requirements.

- Excellent communication and people skills, ability to interact effectively with diverse levels and functions and build solid-long term relationships.

- Experience of managing teams with proven record in employee engagement.

- Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability correspond with consultants and tax to convey technical financial information to non-financial people.

Relationships:

- Reports to India Finance Director.

- Manage a team of internal and external tax resources including advisors and consultants.

- Strong working relationship with segment heads and cross functional teams.

- Close interface with factory, business and COE teams at various levels.

- Interface with other Corp GVR/Vontier and other Inter-Companies, as required.

Graduation/ Degree: Bachelors / Graduate
