Role Overview:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing the core HR functions including manpower planning, recruitment, HR operations, employee engagement, and compliance. The role requires hands-on experience across the HR spectrum with a strong understanding of hospital/healthcare workforce requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manpower Planning & Workforce Management
- Develop annual and quarterly manpower plans in alignment with hospital business objectives and patient care requirements.
- Ensure optimal workforce deployment across clinical, paramedical and non-clinical functions.
- Monitor attrition, productivity, and workforce costs to maintain operational efficiency.
- Partner with department heads to forecast staffing needs and skill gaps.
2. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and support functions.
- Build strong recruitment channels (campus hiring, direct sourcing, agencies).
- Implement robust employer branding initiatives to attract top talent in healthcare.
- Oversee structured induction and onboarding programs to ensure seamless integration.
3. HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage HR operations including payroll, leave & attendance, employee records and HRMS.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements (labour laws, medical council norms, etc.).
- Drive HR policies, SOPs, and audits to maintain high standards of governance.
- Liaise with government/ auditors/ regulatory bodies as needed.
4. Employee Engagement & Development
- Foster a positive and performance-driven workplace culture.
- Design and implement employee engagement, recognition and well-being initiatives.
- Drive learning & development interventions to upskill hospital workforce.
- Address employee grievances effectively and uphold industrial relations harmony.
5. Strategic HR & Leadership Support
- Partner with senior leadership in shaping organizational structure and culture.
- Provide HR insights and analytics for informed decision-making.
- Lead HR transformation initiatives including digitization, HR analytics, and best practices.
- Mentor and develop the HR team to build capability and ensure succession planning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
- 12-18 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Prior exposure to the hospital/healthcare sector is a MUST.
- Strong knowledge of manpower planning, recruitment, HR operations and statutory compliance.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and work with senior leadership.
