GM - Sales (Solar D2C)
Job Description:
The General Manager Solar (D2C Sales) will be responsible for building and scaling the direct-to-consumer business for solar products and solutions. This role involves driving topline growth, expanding customer reach, and establishing a strong consumer brand presence through digital, retail, and on-ground channels. The position requires a strategic leader with strong business acumen, proven sales experience, and a passion for renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Sales Strategy
- Define and execute the D2C sales strategy for solar solutions (rooftop, residential, small commercial).
- Own P&L responsibility for the D2C solar business.
- Develop pricing, product positioning, and market entry strategies.
- Drive revenue growth by creating scalable and profitable business models.
Sales Operations & Execution
- Build and manage a high-performing sales team (inside sales, field sales, channel managers).
- Drive digital lead generation, inside sales conversion, and on-ground installation pipeline.
- Develop partnerships with financing institutions, installation partners, and after-sales service providers.
- Ensure seamless customer experience from inquiry to installation and service.
Marketing & Customer Acquisition
- Work with marketing to design and execute consumer-focused campaigns across digital, retail, and events.
- Establish brand trust through awareness programs, testimonials, and customer education.
- Optimize consumer journey for better conversion and retention.
Team Leadership & Development
- Hire, train, and mentor sales teams across regions.
- Set clear performance KPIs and monitor sales targets.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track, analyze, and report sales metrics to management.
- Use data-driven insights to improve lead-to-sale conversion, customer retention, and profitability.
- Stay updated with market trends, competitors, and regulatory frameworks.
