General Manager - Accounts - Manufacturing/Flexible Packaging Firm

Role: General Manager- Accounts

Location: Ahmedabad

Position Overview

The General Manager Accounts will be responsible for managing all aspects of operational accounting across Company's manufacturing and sales functions. This role requires a detail oriented finance professional with a strong command of accounting standards processes, compliance, and systems such as MS 365 Business Central . The role reports into the Head of Finance and will work closely with plant heads, sales teams, and the corporate finance team.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee end to end accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and payroll.

- Ensure accurate and timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Maintain and improve internal controls across all operational accounting activities in line with audit requirements.

- Work closely with plant accounting teams to ensure accurate recording of production,material movement, wastage, and costing.

- Coordinate with sales and dispatch teams for revenue recognition, invoicing, and debtors management.

- Manage statutory compliance including GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and other applicable taxes and regulations.

- Lead the implementation and effective usage of MS 365 Business Central tools for accounting and reporting purposes.

- Support the Head Finance in financial reporting, MIS preparation, and ad hoc analysis as required.

- Collaborate with auditors for statutory, internal, and tax audits ensuring timely closure without observations without observations.

- Build, mentor, and develop a high. Build, mentor, and develop a high performing operational accounting team aligned with organizational goals

- Support Internal teams/external agencies for Financials & Tax Due - Diligence for Capital Raise.

- Support the management in Support the management in devising & implementing systems and processes to improve efficiency , accuracy & effectiveness in the Accounts & Finance Department.

Key Requirements

- Experience: 12 - 15 years of relevant experience in operational accounting roles, preferably in manufacturing, packaging, Consulting & Audit Firms, or related industries.

- Education: CA/ICWA/MBA Finance or equivalent professional qualification.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS 365 Business Central, ERP systems, and advanced Excel.

- Accounting Expertise: Solid understanding of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.

- Team Management: Proven ability to co ordinate with team members across multiple locations and collaborate with cross functional teams.

- Detail Orientation: Strong focus on accuracy, process compliance, and operational discipline.
