Role Overview:
- As the Finance Controller, you will play a key role in managing the company's financial health, ensuring compliance, optimizing cash flow, and supporting business growth with strategic financial planning.
- You will work closely with the founders, operations, and sales teams to drive profitability and financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
- Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow analysis.
- Analyse financial performance and provide insights for decision-making.
Accounting & Compliance:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with taxation (GST, TDS, etc.), regulatory requirements, and audits.
- Maintain financial reports, balance sheets, P&L statements, and other key financial documents.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:
- Optimize working capital by managing receivables, payables, and inventory financing.
- Monitor and improve credit control, vendor payments, and customer collections.
- Collaborate with banks and financial institutions for funding, loans, and credit facilities.
Cost & Profitability Management:
- Implement cost-control measures to enhance margins.
- Track procurement costs, logistics expenses, and operational overheads.
- Provide financial insights to pricing strategies and vendor negotiations.
Technology & Process Improvement:
- Implement and improve financial systems, accounting software, and automation tools.
- Ensure proper integration of finance with ERP, inventory, and sales systems.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through internal controls.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: CA/ICWA/MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: 5-12 years in financial management, preferably in a B2B or food supply startup.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of financial modelling, accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or SAP), and MS Excel.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of food procurement, supply chain, vendor management, and working capital dynamics.
- Soft Skills: Analytical mindset, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and strong communication skills.
