Job Title: Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Procurement
Location: Gurgaon
Reports To: Head of Supply Chain Management
Experience: 8-12 years
Job Summary: The Assistant General Manager (AGM) of Procurement will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our procurement operations within the fast-paced e-commerce environment. This position will report directly to the Head of Supply Chain Management and will be responsible for strategically managing the procurement function to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous - terms and conditions while ensuring the highest quality of products and services.
- Cost Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyze procurement processes to identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate contracts, and manage budgets effectively.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, addressing any issues and proactively seeking opportunities for collaboration and improvement.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
- Compliance: Ensure procurement activities adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards, including sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to inform procurement decisions.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to procurement, including supply chain disruptions and market volatility.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate and present reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and key performance indicators to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, make data-driven decisions, and report on key metrics.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CPM).
- Experience in e-commerce or retail procurement.
