Assistant General Manager - Information Technology

We are seeking a highly competent and proactive Assistant General Manager - Information Technology to contribute significantly to our IT infrastructure, operations, and strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional with strong technical expertise and emerging leadership capabilities, eager to drive technological excellence within a fast-paced environment.
Location:
This is an onsite opportunity based in Kandivali, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Experience:
We are looking for a dedicated IT professional with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure management, network administration, systems support, and project coordination. Experience in supporting diverse business units, particularly within a technology or manufacturing-driven company, is highly desirable.
About the Role:
As the Assistant General Manager - Information Technology, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and secure operation of Evolute Group's IT systems. You will assist in managing IT infrastructure, providing technical support, overseeing IT projects, and contributing to the development and implementation of IT policies and best practices. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach to support our diverse business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure Management:
- Assist in the management, maintenance, and optimization of Evolute Group's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks (LAN/WAN), Wi-Fi, storage, and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of all IT systems.
- Oversee data backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
Technical Support & Operations:
- Provide advanced technical support to end-users across all departments and locations, resolving complex hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently.
- Manage help desk operations, ticketing systems, and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Implement and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure data security, network access, and system availability.
Project Management & Implementation:
- Assist in planning, managing, and executing IT projects, including system upgrades, new technology implementations, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Coordinate with vendors and external service providers for IT procurement, support, and specialized services.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet defined objectives.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company security policies.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Vendor Management:
- Assist in evaluating, selecting, and managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure that vendor services meet quality and cost-efficiency standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT infrastructure, configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on IT performance, incident resolution, project status, and asset management.
Team Collaboration & Support:
- Collaborate effectively with all departments to understand their technological needs and provide suitable IT solutions.
- Support the General Manager - IT in strategic planning and operational excellence.
- Potentially assist in coaching and mentoring junior IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in Information Technology roles, with a focus on IT infrastructure, network administration, and systems support.
Technical Proficiency:
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs) and network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Experience with server administration (Windows Server, Linux).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and managing cloud services.
- Working knowledge of database management.
- Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting.
IT Tools & Systems:
- Proficiency with Service Desk ticketing systems.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Exchange administration.
- Familiarity with project management tools.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure.
- Customer Service: A strong customer-centric approach, committed to providing excellent support to internal users.
- Proactive Approach: Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies and improve processes.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, CCNA) are a plus.
