Head - Procurement
Roles And Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost and efficiency. This includes long-term planning for sourcing, vendor management, and material procurement.
- Vendor Performance Monitoring: Regularly assess vendor performance and compliance with contractual obligations. This involves setting performance metrics, conducting reviews, and addressing any issues that arise.
- Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate better pricing with vendors. This includes analyzing market trends, benchmarking prices, and leveraging the company's purchasing power.
- Product Development Oversight: Oversee the design and development of new products, ensuring they meet market needs and company standards. This includes coordinating with the Product Development team and other departments.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends and customer needs, and incorporate these insights into procurement and product development strategies.
- Prototyping and Testing: Ensure that prototypes are created and tested to guarantee product functionality and quality. This involves working closely with the Product Development team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, sales, and manufacturing to ensure successful product launches and smooth procurement processes.
- Project Management: Manage procurement and product development projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources. This involves coordinating with various stakeholders and ensuring that projects stay on track.
- Customer Feedback Integration: Gather and analyze customer feedback to make continuous improvements to products and procurement processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities and products comply with industry standards and regulations. This includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and guidelines.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent supply and quality. This involves regular communication, performance reviews, and addressing any issues that arise.
- Dispute Resolution: Act as the final level of escalation for disputes with vendors, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the procurement team to enhance their skills and stay updated with industry practices.
- Feedback Mechanism: Establish a feedback mechanism to gather input from team members and stakeholders, and use this feedback to continuously improve procurement processes.
Qualifications & Key Skills-
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management. (preferable with the Solar energy field)
- Proficient in systems and procurement software & tools.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and market trends.
- Strategic procurement Planner, Proactive & Smart to handle immediate and urgent scenarios.
- Decision-making & Problem identifying & Solving skills (without dependencies).
- Vendor & Contract Management.

- Inventory & Risk Management.
- Team Leadership, Reporting and Analytics.
