Role Summary:

The Head of E-commerce (D2C) will be the strategic leader owning the entire direct-to-consumer digital customer journeyacquisition through retentionacross all owned digital channels. This senior role comes with full P&L responsibility for the D2C business. The leader will drive topline growth, optimize conversion and customer lifetime value, and oversee platform performance with a focus on maximizing revenue and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Own the D2C e-commerce P&L and drive robust topline growth with a focus on profitability.

- Define and execute a comprehensive D2C digital growth strategy aligned with company-wide business objectives.

- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Product, Tech, Logistics, and Customer Service to deliver a unified brand experience.

Website & Platform Management:

- Oversee the development, continuous optimization, and maintenance of the e-commerce platform such as Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce.

- Drive UX/UI improvements to boost engagement, average order value (AOV), and conversion rates.

- Ensure an impeccable mobile and desktop experience that aligns with brand standards and customer expectations.

Performance Marketing & Customer Acquisition:

- Collaborate with internal or external performance marketing teams focused on Search, Social, Display, and Affiliate channels.

- Optimize customer acquisition cost (CAC) and return on ad spend (ROAS) using advanced data analytics and testing methodologies.

- Identify and pilot new customer acquisition channels to fuel continuous growth.

Retention & CRM Management:

- Own and expand email marketing, SMS campaigns, and loyalty programs to boost repeat purchase rates and lifetime value (LTV).

- Develop segmented customer journeys and automated lifecycle marketing flows to maximize retention and engagement.

Analytics & Reporting:

- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including traffic, conversion rates (CVR), AOV, LTV, and churn to generate actionable insights.

- Conduct regular performance reviews and present findings and strategic recommendations to leadership.

Operations & Fulfillment:

- Coordinate closely with supply chain and logistics to ensure optimal inventory health, timely order fulfillment, and effective returns management.

- Continuously optimize order fulfillment operations and customer service processes to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce costs.

Team Leadership:

- Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing D2C e-commerce team.

- Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and freelancers to augment team capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

- 7+ years of experience in e-commerce with at least 3 years in a senior leadership D2C role.

- Proven track record in scaling D2C brands or digital businesses successfully.

- Extensive knowledge of performance marketing, conversion optimization, CRM best practices, and e-commerce technology stacks.

- Proficiency with web analytics tools such as GA4, Shopify Analytics, and Hotjar.

- Exceptional project management skills with a track record of cross-functional collaboration.

- Data-driven mindset with a strong focus on customer experience and business results.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in international D2C expansion or managing marketplace channels.

- Background in industry verticals such as beauty, fashion, CPG, or wellness.

- Understanding of subscription or membership business models.

- Exposure to high-growth startup or scale-up environments.
