About the Engagement:
We are seeking an experienced Workday Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist in the candidate evaluation process for a Workday Analyst/System Support role.
The SME will be responsible for interviewing shortlisted candidates, assessing their functional and system knowledge across Workday Core HCM, Absence, Time and Attendance (Payroll & Compensation desirable), and providing structured feedback on their suitability for the role.
This freelance engagement is ideal for a Workday SME with strong hands-on experience and a good understanding of both functional business processes and platform capabilities, who is interested in contributing to hiring the right talent for ongoing system support and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical and functional interviews for candidates applying for the Workday Analyst role.
Evaluate candidate experience in:
- Workday Core HCM, Absence, Time & Attendance (Payroll & Compensation desirable).
- Business process configuration, reporting (KPIs, dashboards), and master data management.
- Handling small change requests, testing (UAT), and Workday enhancement cycles.
- Supporting SaaS systems, issue triage, and user access management.
- Assess candidate ability to:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and Platform Consultants.
- Understand and improve people processes with technology.
- Communicate functional impacts and gather requirements effectively.
- Provide clear, structured feedback post-interview aligned with role requirements.
- Recommend top candidates based on objective criteria.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Workday, including deep expertise in Core HCM and at least one of: Absence, Time & Attendance, Payroll, or Compensation.
- Prior experience conducting technical/functional interviews is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Workday configuration, reporting, data structures, and business processes.
- Familiarity with SaaS release/change cycles, system maintenance, and support processes.
- Ability to assess both technical competence and communication/collaboration skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Optional but Valuable:
- Workday Certifications (Core HCM, Absence, Payroll, Compensation).
- Experience working with HR Operations or People Technology teams.
- Understanding of AXA HR structures or similar large enterprise SaaS environments.
Compensation:
Paid per interview session or block of hours (negotiable based on experience and interview volume).
