Responsibilities of a Supply Chain Manager (Director Level)
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals
- Optimize processes across procurement, logistics, warehousing, and fulfillment
- Drive supply chain digital transformation initiatives
Team Leadership
- Lead large, geographically distributed teams (central + ground operations)
- Build high-performance supply chain teams and foster collaboration
Operational Excellence
- Ensure efficiency, cost reduction, and service level improvements
- Monitor KPIs like order fulfillment rates, inventory turnover, logistics costs
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify risks (supplier disruptions, logistics bottlenecks) and implement mitigation plans
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards across regions
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage key vendor relationships for procurement and logistics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, finance)
Technology & Data-Driven Decision Making
- Implement supply chain management software and analytics platforms
- Leverage data to forecast demand and manage inventory effectively
