A Cyber Security Technology Director is a senior leader who develops and implements an organization's cybersecurity strategy, oversees security operations, and manages a team of cybersecurity professionals. This role focuses on protecting the organization's networks, systems, and data from cyber threats, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a security-conscious culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Planning:
Develop and execute a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with the organization's goals and risk appetite.
- Security Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day security operations, including monitoring systems, conducting risk assessments, and managing incident response.
- Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Incident Response:
Lead the organization's response to security breaches and incidents, minimizing damage and ensuring timely resolution.
- Compliance & Governance:
Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Training & Awareness:
Develop and implement security awareness programs to educate employees and promote a security-first mindset.
- Budget & Resource Management:
Manage the cybersecurity budget and allocate resources effectively to support the organization's security needs.
- Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure effective security controls.
- Reporting & Communication:
Regularly report on the organization's cybersecurity posture to senior management, highlighting key metrics, insights, and recommendations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices (e.g., firewalls, encryption, vulnerability management, incident response).
- Leadership & Management:
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage projects, and influence stakeholders.

Ability to develop and execute a cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives.

A bachelor's /Master's / Doctorate degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is often required. Tertiary Certification / Qualification in Cyber Security would be an added advantage.
